Rain-flowers in the Garden

October 30, 2010

So much recent rain–what a beautiful surprise each time it happens. One of the pleasures of growing California native plants is being able to experience them any time of day, in any weather. Here’s what some of my back-yard neighbors looked like after this week’s drizzles and downpours:

Coyote Brush (Baccharis pilularis)

California sagebrush (artemesia californica)

California fuchsia (Epilobium canum)

Toyon berries (Heteromeles arbutifolia)

White sage (salvia apiana)
